Homeless women set on fire

Tue Sep 11, 9:40 AM

Toronto police have charged a man and a woman after a 42-year-old homeless woman was set on fire in downtown Toronto on Monday night.
Police and emergency crews found the injured woman around 7:30 p.m. on the sidewalk near Bloor Street and Bedford Road. She is in hospital with burns described as significant, but is expected to survive.
Police say two women got into a heated argument. Moments later, a man and a woman attacked the victim, dousing her with flammable liquid and setting her on fire. The victim suffered burns to about 12 per cent of her body, according to a police news release.
It's believed the victim, who has not been identified, knew her attackers.
Police have charged Tina Joy Hartjes, 35, and Oliver Dick, 41, with aggravated assault.
